The results of the various series were reasonably satisfactory:

the un drill though slow- this is inevitable in a volunteer unit

was good and the laying accurate. The observation of fire by the

various B.Cs. was erratic. but the giving of orders was in every

instance correct. The D.R.F. work was good.

Towards the end of 1935, "L" Section was forme1 with

B.Q.M.S. Moses as acting Section Commander, and the Battery became

known as "A" Section. Together they now, form the Corps 1st Battery.

The keenness on parade and willingness to learn augurs well for

their future efficiency, but although the section is only in its

infancy, I consider it is now ready and anxious to undergo a c

comprehensive and constructive training programme. I have every

faith in their capabilities to make a good section of it, and

confidently expect them to give a good account of themselves by the

end of next training season.

It is also hoped to work up, during next training season,

a strong though possibly small "unit reserve" Lieut. M.I. de Ville,

late in 1935, finding he had not sufficient time to devote to "a"

Section went to unit reserve in command.

Recruits are coming forward quite well, and it is gratify-

joining. The strength of " "A" and "L"

ing to see the younger lads

and Wait Reserve Sections on 31st March 1936 were

25 Other Ranks.

Unit Reserve - 1 Officer and 3 Other Ranks.

During the Combined Operations held on March 21st to 22nd

"A" Section manned the two guns in Lower Belchers and "" Section

the gun in Upper Belchers. Althgether 7 rounds of 3 pounder sub-

calibre blank were fired.

B.S.M. Jack who has 24 years service to his credit was

awarded the Jubilee Medal in May 1935, and in March 1936 Sergeant

Webb, Gunnor Mooro, and Gunner Buxton were awarded the Efficiency

Medal. It is hoped these awards will pro ve an impetus to retaining

active as many members as possible. This I feel sure is in the best

interests of the Corps.
